New 72-Satellite Constellation Has Tracking Capability
Companies Partner To Carry IoT Payload With Multiple Market Opportunities...
JAVAD offers Triumph-LS Plus and Triumph 3 Latest-Generation Receiver. Javad GNSS is looking for new talent to join their team!
Phantom Space Corporation has signed an agreement with IoT provider Ingenu to build and launch a 72-satellite constellation called AFNIO that would provide smart city and asset tracking capability.
Ingenu will host their Random Phase Multiple Access (RPMA) IIot payloads on the satellites that also provide products for smart grid, factory, oil and gas monitoring, mining and other market niches.
The company said the majority of the satellites are expected to launch on Phantom's Daytona launch vehicle set to first launch in 2023.
Ingenu, which developed and operates a Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) platform for IoT technology for IoT, is on more than 50 worldwide terrestrial networks.

Facebook Selects u-blox GNSS Receiver
Thalwil, Switzerland-based u-blox [UBXN] has announced that Facebook has chosen its ZED-F9T GNSS receiver module for their timekeeping product. Facebook’s Time Card, by improving synchronization of network computers, can speed up performance of data centers and distributed databases, the company said.
Facebook used the u-blox GNSS receiver to sync up their solution with the highly accurate atomic clocks onboard GNSS satellites—with a backup of a miniaturized atomic clock in the Time Card, the company said. Facebook decided to open-source the design of their Time Card, which fits onto a PCIe form factor, the company said.
The Swiss company says their GNSS receiver opens new avenues in industry segments that rely on highly synchronized signals, such as 5G network base stations. The base stations “require tighter synchronization than those of previous generations,” u-blox said.

NextNav and Satelles Partner on San Francisco PNT Testbed
NextNav and Satelles have partnered on an alternative positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) testbed in the San Francisco Bay Area. The testbed, which is designed and managed by NextNav with a timing source from Satelles, will create PNT testing scenarios and conditions for GNSS, the company said.
NextNav used the testbed to access the TerraPoiNT network in a GPS-denied environment using STL from Satelles as its timing source, the company said. The demonstration, for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), showed timing synchronization better than 50 nanoseconds in urban and semi-urban settings, the company said.
Location Business News covered the U.S. Department of Transportation technology demonstration report, which categorized TerraPoiNT from NextNav and STL from Satelles as the top-ranked PNT system.
In June 2021, NextNav entered into a merger agreement with Spartacus Acquisition Corp. [TMTS] that allows the company to be listed on Nasdaq.

Hexagon/NovAtel GAJT Product Line Displayed at AUSA
Hexagon/NovAtel’s GAJT-710 GPS Anti-Jam Technology (GAJT) product line was displayed at the AUSA 2021 meeting in Washington, D.C. The new jammer direction-finding enables situational awareness while a silent mode feature reduces its thermal signature, the company said.
These improvements, including enhanced anti-jam GNSS tracking performance, are achieved while maintaining the same form and fit as the previous generation, the company said.
HERE and Bosch Announce Air Quality Findings
HERE Technologies and Bosch have announced their recent activities to improve air quality in the London Borough of Lambeth with Transport for London (TfL). The first step to enable Environmentally Sensitive Traffic Management was to use probe data from HERE. This data was essential to understanding the dynamic flow of vehicles passing through the Brixton neighborhood and to model the emissions emitted.
HERE probe data and TfL traffic volumes were then collected for traffic analysis and included in a dispersion calculation that considered the impact of topology and weather on air quality, the company said. This resulted in a high-accuracy emission heatmap of Brixton town centre, accurate down to 20 meters, to allow traffic managers to better understand and adapt their traffic mitigation solutions, the company said.
